Biography
I POIL, band francese con base a Lione, si formano nel 2006 come trio rock sperimentale grazie al frontman Antoine ARNERA (tastiere e voce), Boris CASSONE (basso e voce) e Guilhelm MEIER (batteria e voce). Senza alcun tipo di limitazioni, proibizioni o legami con la tradizione, essi combinano una sorta di "follia" compositiva e il virtuosismo che evocano l'avanguardia progressive di Frank Zappa, con l'essenza del classicismo di Chopin o Stravinskij e una tendenza alla teatralità alla Chaplin che accompagna il contenuto dei loro testi. Il loro album d'esordio "L'ire Des Papes" viene realizzato nel 2008 durante un'intensa attività live. "Dins o cuol" esce nel 2012 e li pone all'attenzione internazionale. Memorabile la loro straordinaria esibizione al Rock In Opposition Festival di Carmaux nel Settembre 2013.
A Lyon-based combo POIL were formed as an experimental rock trio by the frontman Antoine ARNERA (keyboards, voices; Le GRAND SBAM), Boris CASSONE (bass, voices), and Guilhelm MEIER (drums, voices; UKADANZ) in 2006. Without any limitations, prohibitions, nor traditions, they've combined raw madness and virtuosity evoking thoughts of avantgarde-progressive basis like Frank ZAPPA, classic essence like Frederic CHOPIN or Igor STRAVINSKIJ, and theatrical approaches like Charlie CHAPLIN according to what they say. Their debut album "L'ire Des Papes" has been released in 2008, during massive gig shower.
